Job Description

Advisory Support

  • Advise clients on various Indirect tax matters like applicability of taxes, classification of goods and services, eligibility for special exemption, structuring of business model to rationalize indirect tax cost etc;
  • Projecting financial implications of indirect taxes for their proposed projects/transaction in India;
  • Representation to Ministry of Commerce seeking clarifications on certain SEZ matters; and
  • Assisted clients during Departmental Audits.

Compliance and Other Matters

  • Seeking registrations with tax authorities under Customs, Service Tax, Excise, DGFT and VAT;
  • Handle and overlook team of professionals PAN India compliances for clients under Service Tax - Scope includes validation of data, computation of taxes, preparing tax returns, coordinating with local consultants for tax payment and preparing credit registers;
  • Filing refund/rebate claims for export of services;
  • Setting up SEZ operations
  • Contribute in fortnightly indirect tax alerts and part of budget committee.

Business Development and Growth

  • Create foot prints in Indirect Tax consulting services with existing and new clients.
  • Grow turnover of the firm in Indirect Tax practice to significant size through significant client development and cross selling Indirect Tax consulting services to existing client.

  • Create teams and specialization under Advisory & Compliance teams.
  • Defined core values and standards for Practice
